Cobweb of Crystal Ball is also known as Orb of Entanglement or simply Cobweb Crystal.
Hunters used this spell during long winter runs when facing larger, more powerful beasts in unforgiving environments to turn the tides of any battle.
Description[ | ]
Cobweb of Crystal Ball is an offhand spell-item that can be equipped instead of a shield and used alongside items that do not have a right-click action that override. The Cobweb fires a projectile webbing that slows target movement for approximately 20 seconds. The projectile shoots instantly and is rather fast, resulting in a very effective item of immobilization.
It is a surprisingly cheap tool that among many can be used to flee or catch in both PvP or PvE and even for Taming.
Taming[ | ]
The Cobweb could be utilized with Hook Arrows, though it's not very useful it that way, however with the alternative Wooden Club taming method it is a most necessary tool, as it let's you hit the creature from behind without having to take damage, or it running away.
Slow bug[ | ]
Mind you that creatures tamed with the help of Cobweb may get stuck in permanent slow after tamed as a recent bug (2018.Novemeber). You can resolve this issue by hitting the creature with the Cobweb again after taming and riding it. This way you will see the Cobweb debuff running out at the bottom-right of your screen, which will remove the bugged slow effect. You need to be riding the creature as the slow debuff wears off to do so! It is uncertain whether you have to be sprint running as it runs out.
